How Indoor Humidification can help reduce the Coronavirus Transmission?

We all are going through the COVID-19 pandemic and the Glors team is indebted to keep our friends aware of the ways in which we can keep ourselves and our family safe from this virus.

It all started at the Wuhan city of China when several cases of pneumonia were reported. The Chinese health authorities informed the World Health Organization about the same, and within a short period of time, a huge number of illnesses and death cases were known.

The virus, which is now known as the novel-coronavirus (n-COVID-19) is spreading among the people where the respiratory droplets are at blame. When an infected person coughs or sneezes and the fluid produced by this action falls or gets in touch with a healthy body – this is how the COVID19 is actually spreading.

There are several points that people should note down to reduce the infection spread among the community:

  1. Washing your hands frequently in a day.
  2. Avoid human contacts in the best way you can.
  3. Don’t join a crowd especially gatherings with more than 4 persons.
  4. Wear a mask if you are in the constant presence of COVID-19 patient or you are treating a patient.

Both the SARS-CoV has been considered similar to that of the n-COVID. The viruses are found to survive for a longer time, in a colder/less humid climates. Also, studies have found that the viruses stay longer even at a moderate temperature (20-30°C), provided the air was dry. While high temperatures that are greater than 30 degrees have been able to reduce virus activity.

Currently, it is assumed that the new corona-virus too exhibits a similar characteristic, and acts similarly towards temperature and humidity.

If we take home or public transportation, for example, most of the places have a temperature of 20 to 24 degrees, which is a comfortable temperature. Even the humidity at these places will be low, therefore making it the perfect temperature for the viruses to grow.

With the help of the air humidification, we can control the spread of infections from the infected people. Also, humidifying the surrounding also reduces the spread of the virus in the hospitals at a comparatively lower cost says, Dr. Walter Hugentobler, FMH General Physician, and Dr. Stephanie Taylor, Harvard Medical School, Medical Advisors for Condair Group.

The process of air humidification can be tried on both private and public places that can help people fight the virus which currently doesn’t have any vaccine or any available drug treatment associated. Taking the room temperature into consideration along with the WHO guidelines for COVID-19 prevention tips, we are sure to confront this virus for a longer time.

Along with self-maintenance, make sure that your air conditioners or furnaces are well-maintained.

Stay home and be safe. Together we can fight this!

In cases of any emergency heating and cooling service, get in touch with our team as soon as possible. Take care, everyone.
